PRESENCE: U.S. PREMIERE OF CELLO CONCERTO NO. 2 BY PETERIS VASKS
The first half of the program will begin with vocal works by Kaija Saariaho and Giacinto Scelsi culminating in AEON Ensemble's celebrated rendition of David Lang's Just (After Song of Songs). The second half will be a celebrating of strings featuring Serenade for Strings by Edward Elgar and concluding with the U.S. Premiere of Cello Concerto No. 2 "Presence" by Peteris Vasks.

COMPOSER FUNDRAISER LAUNCH PARTY
We celebrated the launch of our fundraiser with a durational piece about the NYC subways, a juke-box style concert, and a set by NYC’s very own: Elijah Shiffer and the Robber Crabs. All proceeds during the performance went towards supporting the composers and musicians of the fundraiser.

This event was hosted by Groupmuse. What is Groupmuse? It’s something between a classical music concert and a house party. Because of the ongoing pandemic, Groupmuse has remained essential in the music scene by providing a platform for chill, intimate music-sharing.

Remixing David Lynch's cinematic output to construct our own narrative of a nightmare, and then live-scoring that nightmare. Scenes from Wild at Heart, Blue Velvet, Mulholland Drive, Industrial Symphony No. 1, and so on set to compositions by Kaaija Saariaho, Dmitri Shostakovich, and other brain-benders of the 20th and 21st centuries. DJ sets featuring soundtracks, throwbacks, and spooky trap (a necessity) before and after. Visuals by Daniel McKleinfeld.
